Basic Requirements
To ensure we perfectly recreate your pet’s unique look, we require clear photos from 3 core angles:
- Front: Eye-level, full-face shot of your pet
- Back: Shot of the back of your pet’s head/body to capture full fur patterns
- Side: Profile shot to show your pet’s exact facial structure and proportions
Note: additional photos are required for unique fur patterns and special characteristics of your pet.
1. Natural Lighting
Soft, natural daylight is the best way to capture your pet’s true fur color and fine details.
- ✅ Do: Take photos near a window or outdoors on an overcast day, with even, soft natural light
- ❌ Don’t: Use harsh direct flash, strong backlighting, or dark dim environments that wash out or hide your pet’s features
2. No Filter
Filters and color-altered edits will distort your pet’s true fur color and facial details.
- ✅ Do: Use original, unedited photos with natural, true-to-life colors
- ❌ Don’t: Use filtered, color-graded, or heavily edited photos that change your pet’s natural appearance
3. Confirm Your Main Reference
To ensure we match your pet’s exact look, please confirm these key details with your reference photos:
- Haircut: Specify if your pet has a short haircut or long full fur, and share photos of their current coat length
- Age: Share photos that show your pet’s current age-related features (e.g. gray fur, facial changes)
- Season: Let us know if the photos are from a specific season, as your pet’s coat thickness will change between winter and summer
4. Clear Photo
Sharp, in-focus photos are essential for us to capture every tiny detail of your pet.
- ✅ Do: Use photos that are in sharp focus, with clear facial features and fur texture
- ❌ Don’t: Use blurry, out-of-focus, or motion-blurred photos where fine details are not visible
Maintenance and Preservation Tips
Purposeful Display
- Our wool sculptures are intended for display only and should not be used as toys.
- For optimal protection, display your creation behind glass and keep it away from direct sunlight.
Cleaning and Handling Guidelines
- Use a large needle to gently groom the fur instead of regular combs or brushes.
- Trim stray strands carefully without applying excessive force.
- Avoid using damp cloths or tape to remove dust.
- A light puff of air or a hairdryer on a low, cool setting is sufficient to keep your piece dust-free.
- Always wash your hands thoroughly before handling to prevent the transfer of natural oils.
- Our portraits are lovingly created by human hands, not 3D printers. While we pour our heart into achieving a high level of likeness, a 100% exact replica is not possible—and that’s part of what makes your piece one-of-a-kind.
- We primarily work from one main reference photo for a specific angle. Once we begin the creation process, we cannot change the chosen angle at a later stage.
- Wool has a unique, natural texture that differs from real fur, and we cannot replicate a glossy fur finish. The exact look and feel of your pet’s coat may vary slightly due to these inherent material differences.
- While we carefully reference your photos for fur and eye color, exact color replication may not be possible due to variations in how colors display on different screens and devices.
- Smaller pieces, such as mini framed portraits or mini full-body figurines, will have fewer fine details due to size constraints—we focus on capturing your pet’s core spirit in these compact designs.
- We’re always happy to make adjustments based on your feedback, but we work within the natural limitations of our wool material and needle-felting techniques to ensure the quality and integrity of your piece.
